work agenda

Peace Promotion
Action in this priority line refers to set of activities linked to the current peace process in Somalia. However, work concentrates on trust-building effort targeting civil society elements and key leaders involved in the negotiations. The move entails significant preset conditions most likely to open out promising input procedures to rescue the dying down peace efforts.

Many UN sponsored reconciliation meetings in the past 10 years were not sufficient to yield to a nation-wide reconciliation process. Only the last two in Djibouti and Nairobi could produce a limited and temporary hope.

We believe, it is here where the efforts of a trust-building NGO are needed most, because NGO s in general are better suited to engage parties in informal and non-threatening dialogue, besides their capacity to establish links between professionals and other civil society groups including clan elders and Diaspora forces.

Development Projects

Activities at this line reflect the Diaspora commitment to efficiently contribute in restoring the nations lost economic strength of course once lasting peace resolution is achieved.
Individuals or groups from among the NGO members will be invited and helped to shape-out own business projects. Host country’s Development institutions will be asked to raise necessary funds and services. Returning candidates will then have to implement their projects at home.
